An acrylic plate, and a side clip as well as a top one
Boxtree seven-position acrylic and metal book holder

Folds almost flat
Five listings on amazon.com describe nearly the same folding seven-position stand, and three are in this hub. This one stands apart on two published details. The first is the plate: a metal base carrying a heavy-duty acrylic holder plate, where the Barelove and the Abankey are metal with ABS or plastic. Boxtree calls the result well balanced, sturdy and wear-resisting, and publishes neither a thickness nor a weight to support it.
The second is the clipping. Like the others it has a clip at the top to hold loose sheets, and two plastic holders at the bottom with a textured center to keep pages from sliding. What it adds is a highlighting clip on the side, which “helps to bookmark where you left off” — on sheet music or a cookbook page, a way to keep your place without crossing the first line. A clear guide with a blue line does the same job for transcription.
The listing itself needs reading with care. Part of the product description is written in the first person — “the adjustable back allows me to use less space” — and reads like customer text pasted in where a specification would normally be. It also claims the stand helps children correct their writing posture and prevent myopia, which nothing on the page supports. At about $15 it is the most expensive of the three seven-angle stands here, a dollar above the Abankey and three above the Barelove.

What buyers ask us first
Does it have a side clip instead of a top clip?
It has both. The description mentions "a plastic clip at the top that holds the documents in place", and the bullets add "a highlighting side clip" that "helps to bookmark where you left off and pinch the document". The side clip is the extra: it marks a place on sheet music or a recipe without crossing the first line. The Abankey can also move its clip to the side edges.
Is the acrylic plate better than a metal back?
It is a different trade rather than a better one. Boxtree states a metal base with a heavy-duty acrylic holder plate, which it describes as well balanced and wear-resisting — acrylic shows scratches that powder-coated steel hides, and it does not bend. Neither the thickness nor the weight is published, so the balance claim is not checkable on the page. The description's own material line reads "plastic and stainless steel".
How does it compare with the Barelove and Abankey?
The three share the folding seven-position format at about 13.9 by 8.2 in. The BoxTree adds the acrylic plate and the side bookmark clip, the Abankey a removable line guide, and the Barelove is the cheapest at about $12, against $14 and $15.
A weighted single-clamp holder, 4.3 by 2.1 in, that stands one document upright beside the keyboard, publishes what it will take — up to 20 sheets — and is the cheapest holder here.
