Ultimate Office AdjustaView reference display with ten document pockets on a round weighted base

Ultimate Office ten-pocket weighted reference display

  • Ten pockets displaying up to 20 letter-size sheets at once — the most of the three multi-document holders here, ahead of the Kensington (five slots) and the Zeller letter rack (three compartments)
  • Pockets pivot through five angled positions for sitting or standing
  • About $58, by far the highest price among the US listings in this hub — the next is the 3M at about $23

Best for: A workstation that reads the same twenty pages every week — procedures, price lists, schedules — rather than one document at a time.

Most holders in this hub are built around one document; the Kensington has five slots and the Zeller letter rack three compartments. This one goes furthest: ten pockets, each taking two single-sided letter sheets or one double-sided page, mounted on a round 12-inch weighted base and pivoting through five angled positions — up to twenty pages visible at once, at an angle chosen for sitting or standing.

The base does two jobs. It is weighted, with a scratch-resistant bottom, which is what keeps a tall display of paper upright on a desk; and it is hollow, with side compartments for pens and paperclips and a recessed front compartment sized for a Post-it pad. Ultimate Office describes the pockets as corner-tuck, so a sheet goes in and comes out without creasing or tearing — a sheet slid into a pocket is not gripped the way a clamp grips it.

Two things to read carefully. The pockets are letter-size, a US paper specification, and the material is injection-molded polystyrene rather than metal, backed by the manufacturer’s lifetime guarantee. And one of the five bullets sells the product on “over 900 customers who rated this 4.6 stars” rather than on anything about the product, in a listing that elsewhere publishes its pocket count, its sheet count, its angle count and its base diameter. At about $58 it is also more than twice the price of anything else sold in the US on this shelf.

What holds up, and what does not

Best for: A workstation that reads the same twenty pages every week — procedures, price lists, schedules — rather than one document at a time.

Strengths

  • Ten pockets displaying up to 20 letter-size sheets at once — the most of the three multi-document holders here, ahead of the Kensington (five slots) and the Zeller letter rack (three compartments)
  • Pockets pivot through five angled positions for sitting or standing
  • A 12-inch weighted base with a scratch-resistant bottom, plus side compartments and a recessed pad slot
  • Corner-tuck pockets stated to load and unload without creasing or tearing the sheet
  • Injection-molded polystyrene with a manufacturer lifetime guarantee

Compromises

  • About $58, by far the highest price among the US listings in this hub — the next is the 3M at about $23
  • A reference display rather than a reading stand — there is no line guide and no page clamp
  • Letter-size pockets (8.5 by 11 in); A4, at 11.7 in tall, is not mentioned
  • One bullet sells the product on its review count and star rating rather than on anything about it

What buyers ask us first

How many documents does it actually show?

Ten pockets, and Ultimate Office is specific about the arithmetic: each pocket "holds two single-sided 8 ½" x 11" sheets or one double-sided document", for up to 20 letter-size sheets on display. That is the one capacity figure on this shelf given as a count of what is visible rather than what will fit in a clip.

Is this the same kind of thing as the stands in this hub?

No. Most holders in this hub put one document in front of you to read or type from; the Kensington has five slots and the Zeller letter rack three compartments. This keeps twenty pages permanently visible and pivots them to an angle — procedures, price lists, schedules. For reading a report it is the wrong tool; for a workstation that refers to the same pages all week it is the one here built for the job.

Will A4 sheets fit the pockets?

The pockets are specified for 8 ½ by 11 in letter sheets. A4 is slightly narrower but about 0.7 in taller, and the listing says nothing about it, so expect the top of an A4 page to stand proud of the pocket.
