Every listing on this shelf describes what it will hold. This is the only one that puts a number on it: the HS906 “can also be used to store other items within 5kg such as cables, wires, bags etc.” For a headset that figure is not the binding constraint, but it is the difference between a published specification and an adjective, and this hub compares the former.

The other half of the design is that it does not choose. Flipped one way it is an under-desk hanger; flipped the other it is a stand that sits above the desk, with a raised ledge around the mount so the headset is not knocked off it. The height adjusts between 6.5 and 10.2 in to suit whichever you settle on, and the mount rotates 360° so the headset can be tucked under the desk and swung to the front when needed.

On fit, NEETTO publishes the thickest clamp in this hub — up to 1.97 in, 50 mm, with soft silicone pads and tool-free installation — and no minimum at all. That is the reverse of the JAKO hook, which publishes neither end, and of the Celerion and EURPMASK hooks, which publish both. A thick butcher-block or laminated desktop is the case this one is built for. At about $15 it costs more than the fixed hooks, $7 to $12, for the two positions and the published load.

What holds up, and what does not

Best for: Anyone who does not yet know whether they want the headset above the desk or under it.

Strengths

  • The only listing in this hub that publishes a load figure — stated to hold items within 5 kg
  • Flips between under-desk hanger and above-desk stand rather than committing to one
  • Height adjustable from 6.5 to 10.2 in, and a 360° rotating mount to swing the headset to the front
  • Clamp takes desks up to 1.97 in — 50 mm — the thickest in this hub, with silicone pads, installed without tools
  • Raised ledge around the mount to stop a headset being knocked off when used as a stand

Compromises

  • No minimum thickness published, only a maximum — the thin end of the range is left open
  • Two functions in one bracket means a hinge and a telescope where the fixed hooks here have neither
  • About $15, above the fixed hooks here, which run from $7 to $12

What buyers ask us first

What does the 5 kg (11 lb) figure cover?

NEETTO states the holder "can also be used to store other items within 5kg such as cables, wires, bags etc." It is the only number of its kind on this shelf: every other listing describes its load in words — "a varied weight of headphones", "headphones of all sizes" — without publishing a figure. For a headset alone it is not the constraint; it is simply the one listing that tells you.

Hanger or stand — which way should it go?

That is the question the product exists to postpone. Short and inverted, it hangs the headset under the desk edge and out of the eye line; extended and upright, it holds the headset above the desk where it is visible and quicker to reach. The 360° mount lets it swing out to the front in either position.

Will it fit a thin desk?

NEETTO gives only the upper limit, 1.97 in (50 mm). For a thin top, the EURPMASK publishes 0.31 in at the low end and the Celerion 0.47 in.
