Most of this shelf is two-tier: a top surface for the monitor and a tray below it for the keyboard, so the screen can go to eye level while the hands stay at elbow height. This is the exception — one surface, everything on it, nothing to assemble.
That trade has two real advantages. It collapses to 1.8 in, where the two-tier risers here stop at 4.3 to 5.1, so when you are sitting the converter is barely there rather than lifting your whole setup four inches. And the surface is 17.8 in deep, more than any two-tier riser on this shelf, which you need when the keyboard is sharing it.
The limits are published and consistent: 22 lb of capacity, the lowest figure here, and a 16.2 in rise, the shortest. Twenty-two pounds suits a laptop and a monitor; two large screens may exceed it, so add up their weight first. Sixteen inches of lift is enough for most people at a standard 29 in desk and short for anyone tall. Out of the box it needs nothing: it comes assembled, as only the Vari also does among the converters here; the others want a keyboard tray fitted first.

What holds up, and what does not
Best for: A laptop or a single monitor with the keyboard on the same surface, on a desk with little depth.
Strengths
Starts at 1.8 in, lower than any other converter in this hub — so it adds almost nothing when down
Arrives completely preassembled, with no keyboard tray to fit
A deep 17.8 in surface, deeper than the two-tier risers here, which matters with the keyboard on top
Simple touch height locking, raising straight upwards without shifting
The lowest price among the US listings in this hub
Compromises
A 22 lb capacity, the lowest published figure on this shelf
No separate keyboard tray — the keyboard shares the raised surface, so wrists rise with the screen
A 16.2 in top height, the lowest here, which may not reach standing height for a tall person
A 29.3 in width leaves little room beside a second monitor

What buyers ask us first
Does a single tier matter?
It changes the ergonomics. A two-tier converter puts the monitor high and the keyboard on a lower tray, so the screen reaches eye level while the wrists stay at elbow height — which is the arrangement common ergonomic advice describes. A single tier raises both together, so at full extension the keyboard is as high as the screen. For a laptop, where screen and keyboard are joined anyway, that is no loss at all; for a monitor and a separate keyboard it is the compromise you are accepting.
Why does the 1.8 inch minimum help?
Because a converter sits on your desk all day whether you are standing or not. The two-tier risers on this shelf start at 4.3 to 5.1 in, so even lowered they raise your screen and keyboard by four inches or more. This one collapses to 1.8 in, which is close enough to the desk to leave a normal seated position intact.
