A shallow screw-fixed tray with a partially closed body and an open front, rated at 11 lb, whose product name and first specification bullet give two different lengths.

VIVO low-profile black cable tray screwed under a desk with cables routed through it

VIVO low-profile screw-mounted cable tray

  • Publishes a capacity — 11 lb — which three trays here omit (G.Sumiker, UNITURE, KabelZen)
  • Publishes its mounting hole spacing, 11 in apart, so the fixing can be checked before drilling
  • The listing gives two lengths for the same tray — 17 in in the product name, 16.5 in in the first bullet

Best for: A fixed desk where the tray should disappear completely rather than carry a power strip.

This is the shallowest tray on the shelf and the one most clearly built to vanish: a partially closed body that hides what is inside it, an open front so a cable can be added without unmounting anything, and a 3 in width that will take a bundle of cables but not a power strip lying flat.

It publishes the two figures that matter for a screw mount. The capacity is 11 lb, which puts it between the 10 lb and 15 lb trays among the US listings in this hub, and the mounting holes are 11 in apart — the number you need before a drill touches the underside of a desk. VIVO states wood or particle board only, which rules out a metal frame or a glass top.

One thing the listing does not settle is how long it is. The product name says 17 in. The first bullet says “this unobtrusive 16.5” x 3” tray”, and repeats 16.5 in at the head of the same bullet. Both figures are VIVO’s own, printed a line apart, and nothing on the page reconciles them. On a tray whose whole purpose is to fit a specific span under a desk, that is the specification to measure against the hole spacing rather than against either number.

What holds up, and what does not

Best for: A fixed desk where the tray should disappear completely rather than carry a power strip.

Strengths

  • Publishes a capacity — 11 lb — which three trays here omit (G.Sumiker, UNITURE, KabelZen)
  • Publishes its mounting hole spacing, 11 in apart, so the fixing can be checked before drilling
  • Partially closed body hides the cables, with a front opening for adding one later
  • The lowest-priced tray among the US listings in this hub

Compromises

  • The listing gives two lengths for the same tray — 17 in in the product name, 16.5 in in the first bullet
  • A 3 in width, the shallowest here, which is a cable tray rather than a power-strip tray
  • Screws into the desk, so it leaves holes and will not move between desks
  • Fits wood or particle board only, per the listing — no metal or glass top

What buyers ask us first

Is it 17 inches or 16.5?

The listing says both. The product name reads "VIVO Low Profile 17 in Under Desk Cable Management Tray" and the first bullet reads "Low Profile 16.5” Cable Rack... this unobtrusive 16.5” x 3” tray". The bullet is the one that comes with a width attached and states 16.5 in twice, but the two figures are both VIVO’s and the half-inch is not reconciled anywhere. The mounting holes, given as 11 in apart, are the dimension that actually has to match the desk.

Will it hold a power strip?

At 3 in wide, not a normal one. This hub distinguishes a tray sized for a whole power strip plus cable slack from a channel sized for cables, and at 16.5 by 3 in this is the second kind. VIVO describes it as routing and concealing AV cables and power strips, and the 11 lb rating is generous for the volume — the constraint here is width, not weight.
