There is one finding on this page and it is worth leading with. The specifications WALI publishes for this riser are the specifications GRIFEMA publishes for its riser in this hub: a shelf of 371 by 236 mm against 370 by 235, three heights of 99, 119 and 140 mm against 100, 120 and 140, a capacity of 20 kg in both cases, a vented platform in both cases, and rubber pads under the legs in both cases. Two brands, five matching figures, and neither listing refers to the other or says who makes it.

What that means in practice is that the choice between them is a price, not a product. On Amazon.com the WALI reads about $10 and the GRIFEMA about $53, a gap that comes from the GRIFEMA being sold in the US by what looks like an importer. The useful comparison beyond that is with the risers that do something different — the Teamix MDF pair that stacks, the Simple Houseware extending platform, the SoBuy drawer stand.

Taken on its own, it does the one job a fixed riser has to do and publishes the numbers for it: three steps between 3.9 and 5.5 in, 44 lb on a 14.6 by 9.3 in shelf, holes in the platform instead of a solid sheet, and space underneath that WALI pitches for a keyboard. The buying tip at the top of this hub still applies in full: measure the height you need first, because a riser with three steps has three answers and no others.

What holds up, and what does not

Best for: Raising a monitor by a measured amount, cheaply, with a keyboard parked underneath.

Strengths

  • Three heights rather than one — 3.9, 4.7 and 5.5 in off the desk
  • Publishes a capacity, 44 lb (20 kg), which this hub compares and one riser here omits
  • Vented platform rather than a solid shelf, with rubber pads underneath
  • Space underneath that WALI pitches for a keyboard or notebooks
  • About $10, the lowest price in this hub — the GRIFEMA with the same figures reads about $53

Compromises

  • Three fixed steps, not continuous adjustment — this shelf's buying tip applies
  • Bare metal, with none of the finish of the Teamix and SoBuy MDF risers
  • No clear height underneath and no weight published for the riser itself

What buyers ask us first

Is this the same stand as the GRIFEMA riser in this hub?

On the published specifications there is nothing to separate them. WALI states a 14.6 by 9.3 in shelf (371 by 236 mm), heights of 3.9, 4.7 and 5.5 in (99, 119 and 140 mm), a 44 lb (20 kg) capacity, a vented platform and rubber pads. GRIFEMA states 370 by 235 mm, 100, 120 and 140 mm, 20 kg, vented, with non-slip pads. Those are the same five figures. Neither listing mentions the other or says who makes it — but on Amazon.com the WALI reads about $10 and the GRIFEMA about $53.

What fits underneath?

WALI describes "open space beneath the stand for storing keyboards, notebooks and other desk accessories" without giving a clear height. The usable gap is the leg setting minus the platform thickness, so check it against a keyboard — a mechanical one is taller than a membrane one — before relying on it.

Will it take two monitors?

WALI says it works for single or dual monitor arrangements, but the shelf is 14.6 in wide — room for one monitor foot. For two screens, two risers or the Simple Houseware extending platform suit better.
