The 2GOODz is a powder-coated steel tray that extends from 84 to 122 cm (33.1 to 48 in), so it can be set to the width of the desk rather than bought to size. It is sized for more than loose cables: 2GOODz states it takes power supplies and power strips, the bulky part of a desk’s wiring, and that it suits height-adjustable standing desks.

It screws to the underside of the desktop, with a drilling template, a screwdriver and the hardware in the box, along with cable holders and cable ties. Screwed on, the tray and everything in it rise and fall with a standing desk, so only the one cable from the strip to the wall has to follow the movement. The SURFOU in this hub takes the other approach and clamps on without drilling.

What the listing does not give is a load rating, the figure that matters once a strip and two or three power bricks are hanging from it; the VIVO and Cinati trays in the under-desk cable-tray hub state 11 and 10 lb. The design is described as patent-protected and from Germany. The tray is not listed on Amazon.com, so the button opens a search.

What buyers ask us first

Why does this specifically mention standing desks?

2GOODz states the tray takes power supplies and power strips and suits height-adjustable desks. Screwed under the top, it rises and falls with the desk, so only one cable — the one from the strip to the wall — has to move.

How is this mounted?

With screws, into the underside of the desktop, using the template supplied. That needs a screwdriver and a top you are willing to drill; the SURFOU tray in this hub clamps on instead.

How much can it hold?

2GOODz does not publish a load rating. Under-desk trays that do, such as the VIVO (11 lb) and Cinati (10 lb) in the cable-tray hub, give a figure worth comparing before loading a heavy strip and several power bricks.
