EKO swing-lid desktop bin with a hidden bag ring

  • 2.2 liters is about a twelfth of the largest bin in this hub — this is a desktop bin, not an under-desk one

Two liters is not a capacity, it is a gesture — and on a desk that is the right scale. This bin is 5.3 in across and 7.3 in tall, with a swing lid on a 360-degree gravity mechanism that opens under a finger and falls shut behind it, a PP body on a stainless steel base, and a removable ring inside that grips the liner and hides its edges.

That ring is the part worth paying for. A small bin with a bag folded over the rim looks like a bag; the same bin with the liner clamped out of sight looks like an object. EKO is explicit about the intent — “No exposed bag edges, no visual clutter” — and it is the only bin in this hub with a ring for it; the AIWE7D hides its bag between an inner and an outer wall instead.

The qualification is the obvious one: 2.2 liters against 7 gallons at the other end of this shelf. This replaces the handful of things you would otherwise carry across the room, not the bin under the desk. EKO gives no liner size, so the bags are found by measuring, and no weight for the bin itself. A 1.5 L version of the same Fandy is sold too, with the same bullets apart from the figures.

What buyers ask us first

What does the hidden bag ring do?

It is the detail that separates a desktop bin from a small bucket. EKO states a "removable inner liner ring, this bag hiding trash can securely holds the trash bag in place while keeping it neatly concealed... No exposed bag edges". A liner folded over the rim of an open bin is the thing that makes it look like a bin; a ring that clamps it inside the body is why this one can sit on a desk in view.

What else can it hold?

EKO also sells it as a desktop container for cotton pads, toiletries, coffee pods and small items. With the swing lid and a 5.3 in opening, it is sized for small dry things rather than for a day's office paper.

Is there a smaller size?

Yes. EKO lists the Fandy in 1.5 L (0.4 gallon) as well, reference EK9206, with bullets identical to this one apart from the figures. This 2.2 L listing is the one that also describes the hidden bag ring.
